Letter writing is an art form that we really need to revive. When it comes to romantic relationships, writing a letter to your significant other instantly makes any message seem so much more romantic. However, it’s easy to just type it up and send it as a message. On top of that, it may seem too time consuming to do compared to just sending a sweet message online.
However, there’s one person whom we’re sure would definitely appreciate a letter from you – your dad. It’s very likely that your dad grew up in an age before the internet or computers. They know the value of a heartfelt handwritten letter. It only adds a little more sentimentality when they learn that the letter is from their beloved daughter.
Our dads need a little appreciation from time to time. They may not be as hands on as mothers, but their guiding presence is always there to lead the way. There are so many types of dads out there – the serious gun-toting dad, the funny dad, the affectionate dad, and the dad of all trades – and every single one of them should be appreciated.
So if you want to just show your love for your dear daddy, why not send him one of these heartfelt letters to show him how much you care?
Dear Dad. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for your guidance throughout my younger years. I am the woman that I am today because of you and mom. You taught me the value of hard work and the importance of integrity. I never would have become successful in my field if it weren’t for you. Thank you for everything you have taught me, from the simplest life skills to the more complicated ones (such as how to stand up after facing failure). These are lessons I will keep with me for the rest of my life. I love you with all my heart, dad. Love, your little girl.
Dear Dad. Because I have a father like you I can hold my head up high. I’m proud to say that my father is a man of strength and kindness. He is a man whom everyone can look up to, from young boys to stooped old men. You have taught me so much in life that I my only wish is to be able to take these lessons and do something with my life that you would be proud of. As I move forward in life, I always carry you with me in my heart and in my soul. You are the guiding force in my life and I would be lost without you.
Dear Dad. I remember when I was a little girl, I would sit on your shoulders and feel so tall. When I became a rebellious teenager, I learned that you were only human and that you too could make mistakes. But now that I am a grown woman, I have learned that you are the balance between invincibility and vulnerability. You are proud, strong, and capable. But you are also vulnerable when you need to be. Now that you are older, I just want you to know that you can be anything you want to be and I will still be the faithful daughter who will be by your side.
Dear Dad. You were the superhero of my childhood. Whenever there was something I wanted to know, I knew I could count on you to teach me. Whenever there were monsters in my room, you’d scare them off with your booming voice. And whenever there were boys who broke my young heart, you were there to comfort me and to ask me if I wanted you to slash their tires. Dad, you are and will always be my superhero, and I will forever be your little princess.
Dear Dad. You are the one person in my life who has taught me the true value of forgiveness. I remember when I would scream at you because you wouldn’t let me get my way. I later learned that this was you teaching me that I won’t always get what I want in the world. I remember when I said things that hurt you, and you would smile and love me anyway. This taught me that a parent can never truly be angry at their child, no matter how awful they’ve been. I remember when I would cry my eyes out and think that my life is ruined because I did some stupid thing. You would hold me in your arms and tell me that everything is going to be okay. This taught me that a father will do anything to make his daughter okay again. You truly are a miracle worker, dad. Thank you for always being there for me.
Dear Dad. Today is my wedding day, and I will be leaving our home to start a new life with my future husband. Please don’t be sad. I know that I’ve always been your little girl. I was your baby, the helpless little one whom you always had to get out of trouble. My tears came easy, but your love and guidance came easier. I know you’ll be sad because I’ll no longer be with you, but I want you to know that you are the reason I learned what love was. Through you, I knew what a real man is. You showed me an example of what it meant to be a father and a husband to mom. And it’s because of you that I was able to find someone who could love me almost the same as you do. You taught me how to love, and because of you I had found love. Thank you, dad, for laying the foundations for me and showing me what I need in this life.
Dear Dad. I can still remember those times when you would carry me on your shoulders so that I could see the beauty of the world. It was then I was convinced that God knew what he was doing when He chose you to be my dad. You were always the quiet, gentle presence who would guide me. You would speak up and say what needed to be said without hesitation. I see that even though you weren’t as hands-on as mom, your presence showed me that you would always be there for me if I failed. Thank you for being my dad!
Dear Dad. While mom taught me how to talk, to walk, to count, and to read, you taught me one of the most important things I needed in life – how to laugh. You showed me that there is humor and happiness all over the world, and all it takes to see it all is a little shift in perspective. People might criticize you for being too lighthearted with everything, but I could see what you were doing. You were dealing with things in a way that made problems less stressful. A little laughter here and a smile there could encourage even the most discouraged person to push through and succeed. And in times when my life was dark and seemingly meaningless, I would remember the cheerful face of my father and trudge on with a laughter in my heart. You truly lit up my life, dad. I love you.
Dear Dad. I would often hear people telling stories about their worries as a parent. Many parents these days seem so afraid of the world that they want to shield their children from it. I then realized that this isn’t how you raised me. At first, I thought you didn’t care if I saw the ugliness in the world. I thought you were being a tough dad who didn’t care if I cried or got scared. Some people would call this tough love. However, I later realized that this was your way of showing me the reality of the world. You protected me from immediate danger, but you never shied away from showing me just how dangerous the world could be. Others think this is a sure way to make an anxious child, but with your guidance and I love, you have made me a tougher person. You knew that I would be an independent woman who wants to take on the world on her own. And from an early age, you taught me how to be fearless and unafraid. Thanks for the tough love, dad!
Dear Dad. I just wanted to thank you for everything you have ever done for me even though it was just you and me. You did think that moms would usually do like picking out my dresses, making me pancakes in the morning, and dressing up my hair before I go to school. I can only imagine how difficult it was to play the role of both father and mother at the same time, but you made it seem like the easiest and most natural thing in the world. You showed me what a real father would do for his little girl, even if it’s not exactly manly. You made me see that even though it was just you and me, that there was nothing missing in my life. You fulfilled every role you needed to fulfill – from being my pillar of strength to my cheerleader to my inspiration. You are the most awesome dad a daughter could ever wish for.
Dear Dad. Congratulations, you’re going to be a grandpa! I can vaguely remember when I was a little girl and you would be up all night praying to all the gods that I would finally fall asleep. I guess I’ll be doing the same thing soon. I remember how I would practically force you to play the same movie over and over again as I would scream out whatever song lyrics I could put together. And you would just let me have fun even though I’m sure you were at your wit’s end by then. I’ll be having that same headache soon. And lastly, I remember how you would always look so worried when I’d go off to school or go out with my friends. I can empathize with that now. I guess what I’m trying to say is that now that I’m going to be a mom, I can learn a thing or two about parenting from the way you raised me. And because I think you raised me well, I’m sure I’ll do a good job.
To my stoic, serious, and diplomatic dad. This is your daughter trying to make fun of you for a change. You’ve always been such a serious person that a smile from you was something I’d rarely see. People think you’re way too serious, even when you’re around kids. Playtimes would often be quiet, and you always encouraged me to read and study instead of dallying in frivolous activities. As a kid, I didn’t understand the meaning of your parenting style. I just thought you didn’t know how to have fun. But now that I’m older, I realize the value of being serious and focused. Even though you hardly smiled, the way you took care of us and provided for us showed just how much you loved us. Hugs and kisses may have been rare, but there was never a day when we didn’t have food or water or electricity. And while you weren’t a huge fan of letting us play throughout the night, I knew that you were only doing this to instill in us, even at a young age, the value of being focused on our goals. Dad, you were misunderstood for being too serious and stoic. But I understand that being a father means instilling life lessons on your kids that they’ll take with them forever. Now I understand what you were doing, and I love you all the more for it.
Get ready to see some tears in your dad’s eyes when he reads this because some of these will really tug at his heartstrings!

Within moments, Lori Greiner can tell if a product is a hero or a zero.
And whether she’s being pitched in a private business meeting or in front of millions of viewers on Shark Tank, the businesswoman has proven time and time again that she has an eye for clever and unique items.
Call it experience, intelligence, a gut feeling or all three. Whatever the case may be, Lori has become one of the most popular sharks on ABC’s hit reality show. In addition, she’s continued to solidify her title as the “Queen of QVC.”
So how exactly did Lori get to where she is today? And what items and investments of hers have caught the attention of millions of consumers over the years? As we celebrate National Inventor’s Day, we decided to dive in and explore for ourselves.
It all began in 1997 when Lori created an innovative earring organizer. As detailed in her book Invent It, Sell It, Bank It!, the best-selling author brought $5,000 to file her first patent. When the lawyer spoke only to her husband who sat off to the side as an observer, Lori demanded a female attorney.

Spoiler alert: She got her patent and it was only the beginning. Lori’s jewelry and cosmetic organizers made their debut on QVC and had successful results. Relationships with Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and other retailers were formed. And then came the undiscovered inventors on Shark Tank.
One of the most successful products to come out of the franchise was Scrub Daddy, the scratch-free cleaning sponges. During season four of the show, Lori was only a guest shark on a few of the episodes.
But after seeing the unique cleaning product in an October 2012 episode, Lori knew she had to invest. What came next was an opportunity to prove Lori’s power as a shark and a QVC star.
“At the beginning, Lori provided priceless advice to modify my on-air pitch strategy,” Scrub Daddy president and CEO Aaron Krause shared with E! News. “She is well loved in the building and by the QVC customer as shown in her more than 20 years of solid success on the network.”
To date, Scrub Daddy has been featured as a “Today’s Special Value” on numerous occasions. And according to Aaron, more than 17 million units have been sold on QVC alone.
“Lori makes herself available to me at all times of the day and night and I mean that quite literally,” Aaron added. “I thank her for many things but the most is truly believing in me.”
Another product that caught Lori’s attention was beanbag beds by a company called CordaRoy’s. Described as the only beanbag that converts to a bed, the product line has soared on QVC partly because of Lori’s guidance.
“I usually say doing QVC with Lori is the VIP section. Not only is she amazing at what she does on air, she’s just as amazing at everything that happens behind the scenes including design, manufacturing, pricing and packaging,” CordaRoy’s founder and inventor Byron Young shared with E! News. “Everyone around QVC loves her and most of the hosts have known her for many years so they know that she has worked very hard for everything she has.”
Byron added, “Nothing has been handed to her on a silver platter and I can tell you from first-hand experience that she is one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met.”
And for those curious, CordaRoy’s has been on QVC about 60 times since airing on Shark Tank with sales of over $10 million so far.
As for how Lori can spot a winner or product perfect for shopping channels, Lori tries to answer three questions according to Inc. Magazine: Does it solve a problem, can you sell it at a reasonable price and is it appealing to the mass market? If you answer yes, your idea may be a hero.
With Shark Tank showing no signs of slowing down in season nine, Lori appears more than ready to invest in even more good inventors and great products. In fact, it’s one of her favorite parts about being a businesswoman.
“I’m about paying it forward. I believe in karma. I think it’s important [to mentor others] and I enjoy it,” Lori previously shared at an event attended by Entrepreneur magazine. “I feel like I’m doing the right thing.”

A 49-year-old man who donated a kidney to the woman he loves was overjoyed at saving her life but saddened when she said no to marriage.
According to Sunday Mirror, Simon Louis popped the question to Mary Emmanuelle after nursing her back to health. But Mary gently rejected his proposal, though she loved him back, because her health made the future seem uncertain.
However the pair vowed to remain friends and Simon, 49, said: “I offered her my heart but I had to settle for giving her my kidney. Whatever happens, I’ll never regret giving her the gift of life.ed: “He is my very best friend and always will be. The love between us is real. He could have died doing what he did for me.” The pair first met in a London club in the mid-1990s with Mary, then 20, thinking Simon, 28, was “a good-looking bad boy”.
They shared an odd smooch and flirted but things between them never progressed further. Simon, who had other relationships but never lost his feelings for Mary, would think of her on Valentine’s Day and buy her a rose or some chocolates.
Then in September 2014, Mary suddenly collapsed at home after her skin went yellow. She was in a coma for a fortnight after a brain haemorrhage, spent two months in intensive care and was eventually diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease.
Her only hope was a transplant %9 only hope was a transplant – but the chances of a donor being found were drastically reduced because she had very rare B negative blood. Simon visited her every day, sometimes staying the night, so he could help her get to and from the hospital.
A few weeks later Simon suggested getting tested to see if he was a match as a donor – and it turned out he was. Then both underwent surgery before helping each other back to health.
Then one night cooking dinner, Simon plucked up the courage and proposed. Mary said: “I let him down gently by saying I’d have to think about it. I think I’d worry if we got married it would in some way damage our special friendship and also I don’t want to get wed until I’m fully better health-wise.”
