Pamputtae continues her onslaught on Beenie Man over a failed performance last weekend at Ghetto Splash in Kingston.
Over the weekend, the female dancehall diva posted a video clip on Instagram ranting about the promoters of the show and Beenie Man who she accused off barring her performance. The dancehall legend quickly shot back saying that she did got a chance to perform but the fans just wasn’t feeling her. Beenie explained that it was his time slot to perform and she wanted to go on stage in his allotted time slot and he just wasn’t haven’t it.
Pamputtae says that is not the case because Beenie Man didn’t just jumped in front of her, he also did it to a bunch of other artists. “My road manager check the schedule and see a who next fi perform,” she said. “Dat a when Beenie Man just a come a di venue. Dem say after Assassin a me, den when me go deh and ready fi work, the woman (one of the stage managers) a say, ‘No, a Beenie fi perform’, and Beenie Man deh behind a me a tell dem nuh fi gimme di mic when him know say a never fi him time fi work because him just come.”
“Wah more Beenie Man can do? Him career buck and stop,” she added. Pamputtae says the promoter for the show has since called and apologize to her for the mishap but nevertheless, she will not be performing at the show in the future.
The cut was released last night and fans on Twitter has mixed reaction. The single is one of the most popular R&B tracks this year and helped propelled SZA to become a breakthrough artist with her new album Ctrl getting rave reviews and even earning her some Grammy nominations. The success of the single raised the bar high so some fans are a bit disappointed with the video which starts out with a poem which can also be found at the end of the cut.
The rest of the clip mostly finds a scantily clad SZA dancing at the top of a building while the wind blows her hair. The dancing continues to an empty parking lot and then into an art studio. Some fans says they expected to see more of a short film like video for the popular single dubbed a side chick anthem. “I expected SZA to show a fine ni**a playing with her emotions & entertaining side hoes in the weekend music video. The song painted a picture. Instead she gave us parking lot looks and building teas. I guess sis,” one fan tweeted.
Other fans thinks the the artistic video showcase a deeper meaning behind the single. ”
I like that sza and solange went an high art way with “the weekend”. it elevates the song. if it was too narrative and literal, I would find it corny.

More than six months after dropping the landmark album, K-Dot continues to deliver new visuals from the project. The cut was directed by Dave Meyers and Kendrick himself who put the idea together. The video starts out with the Compton rapper contemplating life on the beach while watching the sunset. The clip then transitioned into his romantic life while showcasing the ups and downs and the good and the bad of being in a relationship.
The cut shows scenes where Kendrick Lamar is laughing with his girlfriend through some happy moments and other times when they are arguing and resents each other where you can see him drinking alone. That then leads him to get a taste of the fast life and bright city lights with women surrounding him.
After going for a ride around the city with Zacari, he then makes his way back home to the welcoming arms of his girl. Kendrick Lamar already released videos for other singles featured on DAMN. including “HUMBLE” and “LOYALTY” featuring Rihanna.
The breakout rapper has been having the time of her life this year after creating Billboard Hot 100 history over the summer and then getting engaged to her boo Offset in the fall. Now Cardi B is looking to closing out the year on a high note with this new banger “Bartier Cardi” featuring Atlanta rapper 21 Savage. “B**ch, you a wannabe Cardi, Red bottom M.J. moonwalk on a b**ch, Moonwalkin’ through your clique, I’m moonwalkin’ in the 6, Sticky with the kick, moonrocks in this b**ch,” Bardi raps.
The track was produced by 30 Roc and Cheeze Beatz. The track will appear on her upcoming debut album slated for release sometime next year. Hip Hop Twitter has already reacted positively to the new joint which means Cardi B already has a new hit on her hands. Since “Bodak Yellow” catapult her to massive success, Cardi has been under pressure to prove that she is not a one-hit wonder and with her next single as a lead artist she settles that debate. Her next project will be the follow-up to 2017 mixtape Gangsta B*tch Music, Vol. 2.
She revealed in an interview last month that she already has seven solid songs for the LP, but she will take her time to make sure she gets it right.
