JAY-Z coined the phrase on his single “Kill JAY-Z” off his 4:44 album. “You almost went Eric Benét, Let the baddest girl in the world get away, I don’t even know what else to say, Ni**a, never go Eric Benét!” Hov raps. During her performance at the Holiday Hip Hop Festival in Mississippi last night, Cardi B fired off a stern warning to her fiance Offset using some lines this time from Beyonce’s Lemonade.
“I let a ni**a know though. You do that sh*t again, you gon’ lose your wife,” Cardi B said in reminiscence of the famous lines on Beyonce’s single “Don’t Hurt Yourself” where she sings, “Uh, this is your final warning, You know I give you life, If you try this sh*t again, You gon lose your wife.”
Cardi B and Offset were recently embroiled in some cheating drama that aired out on social media after hackers leaked a video showing the Migos rapper allegedly cheating on his fiancee with another female inside a hotel room back in September of this year. He has since denied the allegations and seems she has forgiven him for any miss steps but not without a stern warning. The hackers who somehow got into Offset’s iCloud account also leaked explicit videos of Cardi B online and says that they have a full sex tape of the two.
The pair started dating earlier this year while they were working together on a song. They were first spotted out in public together at the Super Bowl and since then they have been inseparable. In October, they broke up for a few days after airing out each other on social media, but then got engaged a few days later when Offset proposed to her on stage at the Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia with a giant diamond ring cost north of $500,000.
LA Lewis has shot back at Sizzla Kalonji who threatened to teach him a lesson.
Unless you have been living off the grid then you would’ve likely heard about the leaked video of LA Lewis dubbed the “Equal Rights” video for male dancehall artists. The deejay has since been on a campaign to get dancehall culture more accepting of certain sexual acts but Sizzla is not having it. During his performance at Monday’s GT Taylor Christmas Extravaganza at the Luana Sports Complex in St Elizabeth, Kalonji blast LA Lewis while threatening to put his foot on his neck. “Anyweh me see yu again, me ago kick yu under yu throat,” the dancehall legend said on stage.
According to the self-proclaim 7-Star deejay, Sizzla is merely using his name for the hype and he should try eating “pum pum” himself. “Sizzla need to understand that is modern time now, and me read my Bible about 15 times already, and no weh it nuh say ‘thou shall not make love to thy woman,’” LA Lew When Sizzla a burn LA Lewis, him fi go burn the tings dem whe a gwan ina di country like di road dem whe a fix and other things. Him need to taste it if him no start or admit say him dweet.”
LA Lewis also challenges Sizzla to a lyrical battle rather than a physical one. “Just put me name inna a song and make me get mad. Sizzla, cool yuhself and go write some lyrics inna yuh old age,” he added. LA is clearly looking to capitalize on the extra press that he is getting especially from someone as big as Kalonji, but whether or not he will get his wish of a lyrical battle is far-fetched. Something tells me that this feud will not end well for somebody.
Budden and Charlamagne Tha God named Nicki on their “Trash List” for 2017 and Banks is certainly not happy about that. She has become the fast of championing female hip hop on social media and has become a staunched defender of Ms Minaj’s role in female rap. “Joe Budden talks the most sh*t about rappers yet the emotional trauma (and possible industry backlash) from being rejected by JAY-Z well over ten years ago is the reason why he’s actually not a part of any rap game or music community anywhere,” she wrote.
“But it SERIOUSLY makes me sick to my stomach to see @cthagod and Joe Burden get pleasure from tearing this black woman down because they are LEGIT LYING TO THEMSELVES,” she added in her lengthy post. “Every comparison they make is a FARCE…not cardio [Cardi B] nor remus [Remy Ma] are fucking with nicki on her off day.”
Azealia Banks is certain no fan of the rapper turn podcaster and now Charlamagne has joined that ranks as one of the most hated media personalities in rap. The two took turns in bashing Nicki Minaj while telling viewers that she had a trash year despite dropping a lot of new music. “I can’t remember the last time I saw a superstar of Nicki’s caliber put out three records at the same time, and by the way that ‘No Fraids’ record had the iHeartRadio stimulus package that you going to play every hour on the hour on every urban station throughout the country,” Charlamagne said while Joe Budden added, “Nicki Minaj is a superstar and you cannot have 90 followers and put out three records and non of them catch [on].”
Of course, Nicki Minaj wasn’t the only name on the Trash List for 2017, rap legend Eminem and newcomer Lil Yachty was also on the list along with Frank Ocean.
I doubt Alkaline will care too much about this but at the end of the day artists need disc jockeys to be playing their music. Tony Matterhorn is booked for the upcoming Bad Behaviour Beach Party on New Year’s Day at Sugarman’s Beach in Portmore and he says he will only be playing Vybz Kartel music at the event. This means that if you’re a Vendetta fan then this is the wrong party for you.
Di Unit Portmore Champion Sound and Renaissance Disco will also be providing music for the event, so its unclear if they will be playing any of Alkaline’s music, but Matterhorn certainly will not. Sources told us that the veteran sound system selector has also planned to not play Alkaline music in the new year as a stance against the young deejay’s disrespect earlier this month at his birthday bash in Florida where he called TM a “pu**y” in front his face.
Seems there will be no peace between Tony Matterhorn and Alkaline anytime soon and Vybz Kartel is the unwitting beneficiary of their beef.
Tiller, who has had a successful year for his career, went on Twitter on Wednesday to get some things off his chest. 2017 is undoubtedly a year where social media and internet bullying and trolling dominate the digital space. Most celebrities have a love-hate relationship with some of their fans and some folks can stay behind their keyboards and troll celebrities all day long.
“Spent a lot of time tryin to fix what haters didn’t like about me only to be reminded by those who love me that i was never broken.. focus on the love never the hate,” Bryson Tiller tweeted. Big Sean seems like he was just having a positive day and went on Twitter to share a positive message with his fans when he got wind of Tiller’s statement and decided to share his thoughts on it.
“Facts! U can’t please everybody bro, atleast please yourself! No point in changing your frequency of joy n love to accommodate opinions or hate. I had to learn that too. Keep up the good work, 2018 lookin bright!” Big Sean tweeted. Sean Don has been dealing with his own critics on social media about his recent joint project “Double or Nothing” with Metro Boomin. I personally think that the album was excellent.
