Popcaan may have missed out on the MOBO Award this year but he picked up another accolade.

The “Stray Dog” deejay’s song with Gorillaz, “Saturnz Barz (Spirited House),” gets featured on Rolling Stone’s list of 50 Best Songs of 2017. The song, which is featured on the group’s album Humanz, is ranked 38 on the list. The song is one of Popcaan’s biggest cross-over hits to date and features the Unruly Boss dropping dancehall bars about his early struggles to finding mainstream success through music. He also gave dancehall legend Bounty Killer a shout-out.

The “Saturnz Barz” music video created YouTube history in April when it became the first 360 degrees interactive video to clock in over three million views in 48 hours. The song was a huge hit among the massive dancehall fan base in Gorillaz home turf in the UK. The song also reached the top ten of the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart in March of this year.

Popcaan had a phenomenal year in dancehall after scoring a number of hits this year, but his inability to secure a United States visa has significantly hurt his reach in the biggest music market in the world.

Masicka new song “Kill Quick” is a direct message to his enemies.

The dancehall deejay serves up his latest gangsta anthem “Kill Quick,” produced by Jay Crazyie Records. “Genahsyde me see man a buy gun and them no have the heart / From me dog fi bark ready fi walk the walk / Go squeeze the trigger then ago start the sparks / Push a knife a yo neck and it no affi sharp,” the Genahsyde leader spits.

Masicka premiered the video for “10 Outta 10” last week and released two new singles last months. This year he scored a handful of hits including some big collaborations with Ishawna and Vybz Kartel, “InfraRed.” The deejay received some backlash earlier this year for his “InfraRed” music video which portrays the robbery of an armored vehicle full of money and plenty high powered guns.

JAY-Z showed Meek Mill some support at his “4:44” concert in Philadelphia on Friday night.

Hov has been a staunched critic of the justice system since the MMG rapper was sentenced to 2-4 years in prison for probation violation. The Roc Nation boss supported the #FreeMeekMill movement during the Philly leg of his “4:44 Tour” by playing the rapper’s hit single “Dreams & Nightmares” during his set. He leads the crowd on a “Free Meek Mill” chant. The rap legend also penned an op-ed in the New York Times last month throwing his support behind Meek, while calling out the justice system for its mass incarceration of young black men.

Some Philadelphia 76ers players including Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons were at the concert showing their support for Meek Mill. The due wore T-Shirts that says “STAND WITH MEEK MILL.” The fans on Meek’s home turf poured in their numbers to fill up the arena for a sold-out crowd. JAY-Z also showed his support to Colin Kaepernick by wearing his jersey at the sold-out show. R&B singer Trey Songz and rapper Yo Gotti were also showed up to show his support and was also spotted at the after party.

“That sh*t [Kaepernick’s protest] is not about inanimate objects,” Hov said. “It’s about people dying. It’s about young people leaving their house and never coming back home. And it’s not a black and white issue. It’s a human issue. Everybody should be fighting that.”

Meek Mill, real name Robert Williams, is currently awaiting the outcome of his emergency bail application. The Pennsylvania Superior Court handed down a ruling last month directing Judge Genece Brinkley to make a ruling on the rapper’s bail. She is the same judge who handed down the unjust sentencing after she claimed that the rapper broke his probation by getting arrested earlier this year for breaking up a fight and popping wheelies in the streets of New York.

Someone is either out to take revenge on Tyga or he is just plain unlucky.

The Compton rapper’s Last Kings store in Los Angeles was burglarized over the weekend and the thieves made of with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, TMZ reported. According the police report, someone or someones broke into the store late Friday night into early Saturday morning. It was a store employee who discovered the breaking and called cops.

The intruders have yet to be identified and investigators say they forced their way into the store front and made off with items of clothing. The total value of the stolen items are not known, but sources say it could be in the thousands. Last year, Tyga was slapped with a lawsuit from the landlord of the building where the store is located. The suit was filed after the landlord send the rapper a bill for $75,000 worth of damages to the premises. The plaintiff argued in the suit that the building was left abandoned and in bad shape.

The “Ayo” rapper was also slapped with a lawsuit from a former business partner, Chuon Gen Lee, who said in his legal docs that Tyga stole the Last Kings brand from him and then kicked him to the curb. He also accused the rapper of not honoring an agreement to setup the company in both their names. She asked for $1.6 million in her lawsuit and Tyga has yet to pay the debt so that amount has since risen to over $2 million.

Tyga has been having a rocky year starting his longtime girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, dumping him and started dating Travis Scott. There are reports that she is currently pregnant for Scott.
