[Hook/Chorus]
I feel your energy “feel your energy”
It’s coming through “it’s coming through”
Took me a century “a century”
To get next to you “to get next to you”
Plus make some enemies “enemies”
Invested in you “invest in you”
So, I feel your energy “I feel your energy”
Invested, pursue “ooo ooo, I never read the 48 Laws”

[Verse 1 – Rapsody]
The power of the dussy make a grown man cry
The day I came up out my mama I saw a grown man cry
They say it has magic powers, even Magic ain’t die
Wake you up out ya sleep to take a 3am car ride
He said the booty the only thing between him and God
They love the booty, sacrifice they family and job
Badge make police feel powerful in the hood
Guns make us feel powerful but they don’t do no good
I know my blackness powerful and they don’t like that
I know some n—-s sold theirs, sit back and watch ’em tap dance
Bombs over Baghdad to have a flag to brag bout
Don’t make you a big boy, cus you got a nice Stack
Carolina home boy, you know we keep a Stackhouse
Thats power when you know the game, I’m feeling like a Champ now
I went the rap route, homie get out the trap house
I want the power to be able rap bout, what I rap bout
Black child
God, love and textiles
Point, blank decimal
Steph Curry projectile
I saw the goal from 8 miles
With every stone you threw I picked it up and built a powerhouse
Caught a case
I got murder in my profile
N—-s still billin’ me
See, that’s just the appeal in me
Respek on my name
Why yall n—-s so emotional?
Power

[Hook/Chorus]
I feel your energy “feel your energy”
It’s coming thru “it’s coming thru”
Took me a century “a century”
To get next to you “to get next to you”
Plus make some enemies “enemies”
Invested in you “invest in you”
So, I feel your energy “i feel your energy”
Invested, pursue “ooo ooo, I never read the 48 Laws”

[Verse 2 – Rapsody]
Power up with the word
I got it from my God
He said a good shephard don’t trip over what they heard
Let em talk the talk until the night you choose to go and purge
I came up when the rest of you struggled and failed to flourish
Conversations with florist
She said I’m good as herbs
Get em high, get em high from the hood to the suburbs
No one can take your power even if a storm occurred
It ain’t man made, but whether or not you paid don’t help or hurt
It’s a perk
Jamla Squad written on my shirt
I got a lane but all the lines around me dotted I can merge
I can do what you can but you can’t do the same with words
As I, now watch my street cred go multiply
They say the streets respect a real one
No one’s as real as I
It’s just me and young blood this where I get all of my power
The night I got a chain from Mr Flowers
I gave it back when I got done rappin’ the same hour
I ain’t Five Percent, ‘less we talkin the top emcees
And I’m in the top of that the rest beneath me all cowards
When I spit, look around, it’s meteor showers
I watch the stars fall, fall, fall, see this what you call Power

[Verse 3 – Kendrick Lamar]
Let’s talk about Power
Let’s talk about your and ours that made the allowance
Let’s talk about hundred-thousand kids ravin’ and bouncin
Cravin’ and drownin in words the day I pronounced it
Let’s talk about Power
Let’s talk about do’ers and dont’ers
The house I built when I was homeless and sleepin in corner
Sharin’ coronas and black and milds
Donuts in el caminos
Talkin’ loud, Scrappin’ corners
Residue every mornin’
Talk about legacy
Let’s talk about the life of celebrity
Verses integrity
Curse the first one that thirst for necessity
Searching for equity
Verses the earth that birthed us indefinitely
Verse the verse I wrote in jeopardy
Surfin’ the laws of the universe and destiny
Church and a God is the only thing that’s been ‘head
AW! Let’s talk about my power and golden showers
Granted to be on your cameras and store counters
He’s banana’s, competitive, we can dance
Siege the damage, no more fo’ he peed his pants
My second LP had real n—-s on POTUS lawn
The seven grammys is at my Grannys and Heaven arms
I’m in Jamaica like “WAH GAWIN” my feet is out
My hair is long and patois coming out my mouth
Me, I go outdoors it’s time to bless up erryuhn’
Rude boy, me, I worry bout it fearless’
I shot n—-s then shot movies ten years later
Dear God, why you show me so much favor?
Amongst the haters and wickedness
Deliver this child from evil convictions and friviless
Debates about who’s the prominent emcee of the millennium
And it’s all for the benjamins
And I’m all of yalls nemsis
And I’m all in all happy none of yall can fathom who Kendrick is
The only one that did wrote book of Genesis
M———-r, thats Power

[Verse 1: Hailee Steinfeld]
You made plans and I, I made problems
We were sleeping back to back
We know this thing wasn’t built to last
Good on paper, picture perfect
Chased the high too far, too fast
Picket white fence, but we paint it black

[Pre-Chorus: Hailee Steinfeld]
Ooh, and I wished you had hurt me harder than I hurt you
Ooh, and I wish you wouldn’t wait for me but you always do

[Chorus: Hailee Steinfeld]
I’ve been hoping somebody loves you in the ways I couldn’t
Somebody’s taking care of all of the mess I’ve made
Someone you don’t have to change
I’ve been hoping
Someone will love you, let me go
Someone will love you, let me go
I’ve been hoping
Someone will love you, let me go

[Verse 2: Florida Georgia Line]
It’s been some time, but this time ain’t even
I can leave it in the past
But you’re holding on to what you never had
It’s good on paper, picture perfect
Chased the high too far, too fast
Picket white fence, but we paint it black

[Pre-Chorus: Hailee Steinfeld]
Ooh, and I wished you had hurt me harder than I hurt you
Ooh, and I wish you would have waited for me but you always do

[Chorus: Hailee Steinfeld]
I’ve been hoping somebody loves you in the ways I couldn’t
Somebody’s taking care of all of the mess I’ve made
Someone you don’t have to change
I’ve been hoping
Someone will love you, let me go
Someone will love you, let me go
I’ve been hoping
Someone will love you, let me go (go, go, go)
Someone will love you, let me go (go, go, go)
Someone will love you, let me go (go, go, go)
Someone will love you, let me go (go, go, go)
Someone will love you, let me go

[Outro: Hailee Steinfeld]
I’ve been hoping somebody loves you in the ways I couldn’t
Somebody’s taking care of all of the mess I’ve made
Someone you don’t have to change
I’ve been hoping
Someone will love you, let me go

Vybz Kartel gets another mainstream feature this time on the soundtrack for AMC’s supernatural action serious Preacher.

Despite being incarcerated since 2011, Vybz Kartel has remained very much relevant in Jamaica’s dominant music form, dancehall. The Gazanation leader, aka Worl’Boss, has added significantly to his vast catalog during his time behind bars. This year he did a collaboration with Mangi Mahal, “Balle! Shava!” The track is featured on the soundtrack for AMC’s hit series Preacher.

For those of you who haven’t yet been watching, Preacher, it’s time to get on the bandwagon. The show is now in its second season and has reportedly been renewed for a third next year. The first season averaged around 3 million viewers per episode, so these are ears that Vybz Kartel will reach and these might be folks who have never heard his music before. The series was developed for AMC by Sam Catlin, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen and starring Dominic Cooper.

Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, will get a shot to vindicate himself and walk free come February of next year when his appeal trial kicks off in the Appeal Court in Kingston. The dancehall star is currently serving life for a 2014 murder conviction. He will be eligible for parole in 35 years. Throughout the two-month trial, the defense argued that police officers tampered with cellphone evidence presented in court and also intimidate one of the defense witnesses. As if that wasn’t enough, one member of the jury was arrested the same day the artist was convicted of murder.

That juror, Livingston Caine, is now on trial for conspiracy and attempted bribery charges and faces a few years in prison if convicted. Vybz Kartel and his three co-accused, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones, have all maintained their innocence despite the mountain of evidence presented in the case against them. The murder victim, Clive “Lizard” Williams, body was never found.

[Verse 1]:
I’m down on my knees again
A call for my repentance
The war has taken over me
I beg for the forgiveness
The bullets ricochet uh
I hear `em when I sleep now
The blood is on my hands Lord
From man, woman, and child
I’m a soldier from my country
But a slave unto my gun
The screams to echo louder
God, what have I become?
I pledge my allegiance
I left my family, a new born baby
To slay the enemy, the struggle for power
The lust, the fantasy
I trusted America, she took my sanity

[Hook: Lee Brice]:
Winds of change rolling in
Take your love back again
I your fool, Amen
Just a bow for your violin
You played me
You made me your violin

[Verse 2]:
She looks at her reflection
Eyes black and blue
She told them she would leave him
She says she was through
He took her from a small town
Showed her the big city life
He promised her the world
Then he made her his wife
But he runs around town
He’s a cheater and a beater
She’s sleeping with the enemy
But no one believes her
A diamond green, a glass of whiskey
The bottle of pain pills open and empty
She left a letter “to hell I send thee”
He brought home flowers, ashamed and guilty
Too late

[Hook: Lee Brice]:
Winds of change rolling in
Take your love back again
I’m your fool, Amen
Just a bow for your violin
You played me
You made me your violin

[Verse 3]:
Uh, you was like a rag
I’ve been washed up and dragged through the mud like a thief
All my beefs and my love , take a bow , take a down
Took a left, took a right , It’s the one to be found
To explain to me why
Why it was me that was brought to the edge of the cliff
Cause this is not fair but why should you care?
The choices I’ve made
And mama, I swear that all can not be the fault of just me
I’ve tried to maintain my walks in my knees
To work and not see the changes I’ve strived for
A better life for my family got me died for
Taking away everything from me
That’s why more
They tell me to make a decision from a five doors
There’s a prayer I’m saying ‘Why lord?’
Send me to a war without a sword
I’ll fight and fight more
I’ll travel along road
Cause I’m just a violin
My life is another course
Cause I’m just a violin
My life is another course

[Hook: Lee Brice]:
You made me your violin
You played me violin
You made me your violin
