The 2001 track is arguably Bounty Killer’s biggest hit to date with massive commercial success. The single peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and reached the top ten in several countries around the world. But the nude scene played by Adrian Young during a Bounty Killer’s line that says “The way you rock your hips, you know that it amaze me” drove a wedge between the dancehall legend and the pop group.
The scene portrayed Bounty Killer as gay and being a gangster dancehall artist, that didn’t sit well with him. Killer canceled all further performances with the band and get them loose. Turns out that he is still very upset about it. During an interview with Quizz & Macedon last weekend, he opened up about how angry he was when he first saw the video.
“When I saw that naked man in the video I wanted to kill No Doubt literally,” Bounty said. “It caused a big problem, it caused publishing problems, it caused relationship problems, everything broke down because that sh*t wasn’t in the video. It was a two-day shoot in California and Mike Myers shoot the f***ing video and no naked guy was in it, a naked guy has nothing to do with the storyline of the f***ing song. So when I saw it I told them take that sh*t out. Because that sh*t is going to cause me problems in my culture.”
Bounty Killer said that No Doubt agreed to remove Adrian Young young naked scene where he was on gymnastics rings and they agreed but then still released the video with that scene. Killer said his relationship with No Doubt instantly broke down and that resulted in him not performing with the band at the American Music Awards that year.
The duo made a lot of hits between the late 1990s and early 2000s including “No. 1 Stunna,” “Still Fly,” “Ballin’,” and “This Is How We Do.” Big Tymers are getting ready to take you down memory lane with a 20th anniversary reunion concert on October 27th at The Maison. “20 years ago and now Ballers Ball #8 BIG TYMERS. Tickets on sale Today,” Mannie Fresh wrote on Instagram.
There is also some rumors about Birdman planning a Cash Money Reunion tour. There are no official confirmation about that tour from Baby and even if he would hope to make it a reality, he would have to do it without Lil Wayne. Birdman and Wayne are not on speaking terms and Weezy is even suing him for $51 million and regularly take shots at him and the label at his shows. These days everytime that Cash Money is in the news it’s almost certainly will remind us of Birdman and Lil Wayne bitter fallout and subsequent legal battle.
This Big Tymers reunion concert isn’t bothering Lil Wayne because he has been busy touring and recording new music. The concert will also see guest appearances from B.G., Juvenile, Hot Boys, and Bun-B.

The Love and Hip Hop Hollywood star was on Everyday Struggle this morning and Akademiks and Joe Budden peppered him with questions about Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, LHH and more. “Is Cardi B pressing Nicki, do you think that she got Nicki sweating,” Akademiks asked Safaree to which he responded, “a hundred percent because I know how she is.”
Safaree also opened up on whether or not he thinks that Nicki Minaj fell off and he said yes. “It’s very different, like how she was before on when we were doing ‘Romans Revenge’ and ‘Did On Em’ but some people may say you got to grow and change, but I like the old her better,” he said.”
Cardi B “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” is the number one single on Billboard Hot 100 for a second week straight and with current streaming numbers, it will return to the top spot for a third week. As for Nicki Minaj, she is yet to have a Hot 100 number one song. She has the most entries on the chart among women in history thanks to her many features, but she will likely not get that extra credential until she earned a number one solo record.
Nicki Minaj is currently working on her new album that she says will be a game changer when it arrives. There are no release date or title yet, but she hinted it could arrive by the end of this year. Safaree Samuels was also asked about writing lyrics for her, a topic that is a bit of a controversy between the two, but he sidesteps the question and smartly so. None of them can win in that battle of his word against hers because there is nothing on paper to back up his argument.
Teenage rapper Tay K is facing a very long time in prison after additional charges were tacked on to his case.
“The Race” rapper is currently behind bars for a capital murder charge and aggravated robbery. Now there are reports that he was slapped with a second capital murder charge for a killing in San Antonio. All these charges carry life sentences. Tay K was offered $500,000 bail which he is unable to make despite having one of the hottest rap songs out now.
Tay K will be tried as an adult for his crimes as revealed by his lawyer M. Trent Loftin last month. “The judge ruled that his case should [b]e moved to the adult court based on his age (and the fact that the juvenile court will lack jurisdiction soon),” Loftin said. “The judge was very clear to tell Mr. McIntyre on the record that this decision has no bearing whatsoever of his guilt/innocence in this case… Mr. McIntyre remains upbeat after this hearing.”
Tay K, whose real name is Taymor McIntyre, legal trouble started last year when 21-year-old Ethan Walker was killed during a home invasion in Mansfield, Texas. The rapper and his associates were arrested for the crime, but he was placed on house arrest pending a trial. He cut loose his ankle monitor and made a run for it and was on the run as a fugitive before getting captured. While on the run, cops say he committed another murder involving a 65-year-old man who was killed.
