“Jamaica is life bumbaclat” is a phrase that will leave a stain in your mind after watching this video.

Noisey caught up with Popcaan recent for an episode of their popular series The People Vs. During the nearly four-minute clip, Popcaan read comments posted about him on social media from fans, some positive and some negative. One of his fans posted the now infamous comment “Jamaica is life bumbaclat.” Every Jamaican living overseas will agree with this comment as they reflect on home, but for the folks living in Jamrock, this comment is like a daily motto.

Some of his fans commented on his image like his infamous hair and some thank him for recording uplifting songs that help them through hard times. “Thank you very much and I will give you a lot of songs that hits home after this,” Popcaan responded to one of his fans comment who said “This song has helped me get through some ruff times. It hits home.” Popcaan was reading some comments from his “Love Yuh Bad” music video on YouTube.

Vershon is steering clear of an all out beef with dancehall giant Mavado and for good reasons, but some of his fans are calling him a coward.

Mavado has been very actively on the war side of dancehall over the past year with beefs with Vybz Kartel, Popcaan and a small running with Vershon who is a strong supporter of the Unruly gang. But a recent song uploaded to YouTube from Vershon labeled as a Mavado diss record is causing the singjay some problems.

“I guess dem like see war,” Vershon said. “Dem upload the song as Mavado diss and I have reached out to some of them and told them to take it down. This is not a diss track. If you check on my official VEVO page it is uploaded as Vershon, My Success. It is not aimed at anybody and I don’t mention anybody. I want fans to know that I am not responsible for persons labelling the record as a Mavado diss.”

There are a few lines in the sing that some dancehall fans are saying are direct shots at Mavado. “Boy come a boast, money fool, money fright / Yu nuh memba when you used to live pon di gully side,” Vershon sings. Some of his fans on social media are calling him a coward for taking shots at Mavado and then running from a potential lyrical feud that some of those fans say could be detrimental to his career.

[Verse 1]
You’ve got a fast car
I want a ticket to anywhere
Maybe we can make a deal
Maybe together we can get somewhere
Anyplace is better
Starting from nothing, we got nothing to lose
Maybe we’ll make something
Me myself I’ve got nothing to prove

[Verse 2]
You’ve got a fast car
I got a plan to get us outta here
Working at a convenience store
Managed to save just a little bit of money
We don’t have to drive too far
Just across the border and into the city
You and I can both get jobs
Finally see what it means to be living

[Chorus]
I remember when we were driving
Driving in your car
Speed so fast felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice around my shoulder and
I-I had a feeling that I belonged
And I-I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone

[Verse 3]
See my old man’s got a problem
He lives with a bottle that’s the way it is
Said his body’s too old for working
His body’s too young to look like his
Momma went off and left him
Said she wanted more than he could give
Said somebody’s gotta take care of him
I quit school, that’s what I did

[Chorus]
I remember when we were driving
Driving in your car
Speed so fast felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice around my shoulder and
I-I had a feeling that I belonged
And I-I had a feeling I could be someone

[Chorus]
Do you remember when we were driving
Driving in your car
Speed so fast felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice around my shoulder and
I-I had a feeling that I belonged
And I-I had a feeling I could be someone
I-I had a feeling that I belonged
And I-I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone

[Verse 1]
We were just about to lose our home
Diamonds ate the radio
Moving in the dead of night
We took photographs just some just so
History has some to know
We were moving at the speed of flight

[Pre-Chorus]
Kids cry
If you want to
That’s alright
If you want to
Hold me
Hold me tight

[Chorus]
Just an alien

[Verse 2]
We were hovering without a home
Millions are UFO
Hovering in hope some scope tonight
Sees the light and says

[Pre-Chorus]
Fly if you want to
That’s alright
But if you want to
Call me
Call this line

[Chorus]
Just an alien
Just an alien
Oh, we just want to get home again

[Bridge]
Tell your leader
Sir or ma’am
We come in peace
We mean no harm
Somewhere out there
In the unknown
All the E.T.’s are phoning home
Watching my life
On the skyline
Crossing your eyes
For a lifetime

[Chorus]
Just an alien
Moving target
Target movement
A patch, a corner
Of the spacetime
Just an alien
Turning toward it
Turning pages
Over Asia
Crossing ages
Just an alien
Oh, we just want to get home again

[Verse 1]
Half a mile from the county fair
And the rain came tumbling down
Me and Billy standin’ there
With a silver half a crown
Hands are full of a fishing rods
And the tackle on our backs
We just stood there gettin’ wet
With our backs against the fence

[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Hope it don’t rain all day

[Chorus]
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like Jelly Roll
And it stoned me
Yes, it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like going home
And it stoned me

[Verse 2]
When the rain let up and the sun came up
And we were gettin’ dry
Almost let a pick-up truck nearly pass us by
So we jumped right in and the driver grinned
And he dropped us up the road
We looked at the swim and we jumped right in
Not to mention fishing poles

[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Let it run all over me

[Chorus]
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like Jelly Roll
And it stoned me
Yes, it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like going home
And it stoned me

[Bridge]
On the way back home we sang a song
But our throats were getting dry
Then we saw the man from across the road
With the sunshine in his eyes
Well he lived all alone in his own little home
With a great big gallon jar
There were bottles too, one for me and you
And he said, “Hey! Here you are”

[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Get it myself from the mountain stream

[Chorus]
And it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like Jelly Roll
And it stoned me
Yes, it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like going home
And it stoned me
Yes, it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like Jelly Roll
And it stoned me
Yes, it stoned me to my soul
Stoned me just like going home
And it stoned me
