Did T.I. created trap music or was it created by UGK.

Earlier this year, the Atlanta rapper did an interview where he insisted that he is the original creator of trap music and even make reference to his 2003 album Trap Muzik. During a recent interview, T.I. says that nobody was doing trap music before he did. But now trap fans are pushing back saying he couldn’t be more wrong and insisting that UGK started the sub-genre back in the early 90s.

“Unless there was a time before then that you recall hearing it,” TIP said about his album. “Now since it was introduced to the world there were people who came on and enforced it and kind of spread the genre out and gave it wings and life beyond it’s origin. But if you go back to who truly started it, I must humbly say myself.”

While trap music has become more mainstream in recent years, T.I. taking credit for originating it is rubbing some fans the wrong way. The 70s and 80s babies would know that Bun B and Pimp C of UGK were doing some trap music freestyles in the south from as far back as 1992, you can go back and listen to their debut Too Hard to Swallow. In the mid-90s, 8Ball & MJG dropped an album, On the Outside Looking In, which comprises of some of the same trap flows we are hearing today.

Undoubtedly, T.I. put the rubber stamp on trap music in the early 2000s and then some southern rappers came in later and pushed it more into the mainstream. But does UGK and 8Ball & MJG deserves some credit for originating the sub genre. “You must born in 2000 if you think that T.I. created trap music. Pimp C and Bun B were spitting trap down in Texas from way back in the 90s. take a L for this one TIP,” one fan wrote while another added, “Big Boi was doing trap before T.I. back in the Oukast days, so naan I can’t believe T want to take credit for that.”

Absolutely, there are fans on both sides of the divide and some are very vocal in support of TIPS claim that he created trap music. “T.I is the Jay Z of trap music. Joe is right Jeezy has been going in a musical direction causing him be stagnant as an artist while the fans wait for a triumphant return that may never happen,” one fan tweeted.

T.I. ain't create trap music but he made it mainstream and then came Jeezy and Gucci

T.I. did create trap music in a way. He deserves his credit. However the whole concept of being "TRAP" is nothing new.

Big Sean and Metro Boomin joint album Double Or Nothing coming this Thursday night.

The rapper and the producer only announced the joint album last week and on Tuesday they announced that it’s coming on December 8th, which means on Thursday night just before midnight you will be able to stream it online. This year has been huge for hip hop music and we got a lot of collaborative efforts with Metro Boomin proving that producers are winning too. The St. Louis producer dropped collaborative albums Without Warning with 21 Savage and DropTopWop with Gucci Mane.

Now he is closing out the year on a high with Double or Nothing with Big Sean which is only a few days away. Big Sean and Metro Boomin both had a phenomenal year but perhaps they wisely didn’t want to butt heads with Eminem who is dropping his album Revival on December 15, just a week after they decided to drop their project.

They also posted the cover art for the album which showcases a photo of both artists all blacked out except for their jewelry. A preview of the album could be posted on social media today or tonight, which will give fans a taste of what’s to come.

Rapper Phresher says his collaboration with Eminem on Revival is “raw as f**k.”

Slim Shady revealed the official tracklist for his new album on Tuesday and the internet nearly went nuts trying to decipher every track title and every guest feature. Phresher, who is an up-and-coming rapper, is the only rap artist to get a feature on the project, the rest of the guest list is made up of pop and R&B artists like Ed Sheeran, Pink, Beyonce, and Alicia Keys.

Eminem is one of those rare artists who can get whoever they want on a song or on an album, he has worked with the biggest of the biggest, and move massive numbers when it comes to music sales. So why would he seek out a guest verse from a no name rapper? Phresher, who is featured on Em’s song “Chloraseptic,” spoke with Complex yesterday where he revealed that Eminem reached out to him after hearing his track “Wait A Minute.” He said the rap titan then flew to New York to meet with him where they spent eight hours recording a new track.

“Yeah, it’s raw as f**k, man,” he said. “The emotions is just turnt up. It’s a turnt up record. It’s raw. That’s the perfect word for it. Eminem going off. The hook is just [crazy]. We going off. It’s at your throat like Chloraseptic. The record is about just spitting, man. Just going off, you get what I’m saying? Just cutthroat, at your throat music. Like, I’m on you, you know what I’m saying? Real right-at-you music. It’s just awesome, man. Eminem went crazy on it.”

Phresher also revealed that the producer behind the single is Denaun Porter and he recorded his portion of the song on the spot. Eminem new album Revival arrives on December 15.

Antes de que empieces a decirme
que te estás muriendo por volver a estar conmigo
Date cuenta que has perdido
Desde que no estás me siento libre
No voy a cambiarlo todo una vez más
Por nada
No te atrevas a pedirlo
Lo siento mucho, no tengo más para ti
Si me tuviste, me dejaste ir…
Si te amé, ya no sé
Ni tu nombre, ya no existes en mi piel
Si lloré
no recuerdo cómo fue
