Chris Brown may not be the biggest selling artist this year but he is certainly the artist with the most RIAA plaques.

The R&B crooner received a whopping 40 certifications in 2017 from the Recording Industry Association of America, RIAA. The certifications and a mixture of gold and platinum plaques for some of his older music that were suppose to get certification but never did for some weird reasons. Among the plaques he received is one for a single that was certified 12 times platinum.

Chris Brown thanks his fans on Twitter for their support in making this happen and now he is on his way to being one of the greatest R&B artists of all-time. “40 PLAQUES THIS YEAR! Today the RIAA released 23 more certified platinum and gold plaques that included 12 x multi platinum singles. 74.5 million single and album sales just in the US. #TEAMBREEZY,” Brown tweeted.

On November 22, Chris Brown received 22 certifications from the RIAA including a four times platinum plaque for his single “Forever,” while his single “With You” gets a three times platinum certification. Two of his songs “Run It” and “I Can Transform Ya” received double platinum status while seven songs, “Next to You,” “Don’t Judge Me,” “Gimme That,” “Liquor,” “Grass Ain’t Greener,” “Wall To Wall,” and “Yo Excuse Me Miss,” all received one time platinum status. On top of that, he received ten gold certified songs.

Chris Brown is still putting out a ton of new music and scoring a lot of hits. His new album, Heartbreak on a Full Moon was released with 45 songs with majority of them being new music. The project debut at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and is currently at No. 11. The album has since been certified gold by the RIAA and is on its way to getting platinum status possibly before the year ends.

Alkaline shot back at Popcaan on Instagram and now the war is back on.

Last month, the “Party Shot” deejay went on an Instagram rant while interacting with his fans on Live. During his rant, he curses out Alkaline and a Vendetta fan who asked him to give his dancehall rival a shout-out. “Alkaline a batty boy bout big up Alkaline wha happen to you pu**y,” Poppy said. The “Pretty Girl Team” deejay never responded until now.

Mavado posted a video from one of his recent performances on Instagram yesterday with the caption, “The girls love bad boys.” Alkaline cosigned the statement and used the opportunity to take a shot at Popcaan. “Rich badness anuh fi di clown dem,” Alka wrote in the comment section.

In case your at a loss as to why his statement is a shot at the Unruly Boss, I will inform you that Popcaan released a song last month titled “Rich & Bad.” The two dancehall deejays have been beefing since last year, but their feud reached a boiling point earlier this year when Alkaline released a scathing diss track, “Microwave.” Popcaan never responded to that diss record, except to take a few shots at his rival in a few songs released later in the year and also on social media.

There are some talks that Mavado and Alkaline are working on a new diss track aimed at Popcaan and Vybz Kartel.

Vybz Kartel is dropping at least five new songs this month.

The aced dancehall deejay is closing out the year on a high and already he his looking beyond 2017, putting his fans on high alert for a flurry of new singles at the top of the new year. Vybz Kartel previews a new song on Instagram tentatively titled “One Box.” The snippet drew some criticism from some dancehall fans who are accusing him of promoting domestic violence against women. The cover art for the single features a female with a black with her finger over her lips.

In all fairness to Kartel, the song seems to be centered around a female who is dating a man who beats her for going home late. Whether or not Kartel is promoting domestic violence is up for debate. “One box in a yo face, just true yo reach home late, Jesus Christ good thing yo never dweet whole day, dead yo would a dead same place, the boy waan kill yo for your pum pum,” Kartel deejay over a dancehall beat.

It’s also fair game to let the full song be released before making a proper judgment on whether or not he is promoting the beating of women by men. “Sooooo people just listened to likkle (few) line and crying bout promotion of domestic violence. Lets hear the whole song nuh!!” one fan wrote in the comments.

“Don’t like the theme of this song nothing to dance to here. Domestic violence is no joke some men will listen to that theme and use it as an instruction manual,” another fan wrote. Our Gazanation sources confirmed that the song will be released in January.

Vybz Kartel has been dropping an average of two songs per week since the start of fall this year.

Is Eminem sending a message with the cover art for his upcoming album Revival.

The Detroit rapper’s highly anticipated new body of work is set for a December 15 release date, which means it will likely arrive next week Thursday night around midnight. The photo is a bit of an optical illusion where at first glance you will see the American flag, but if you look closer you will see an image of Eminem positioned in a disheartening way with his hand on his forehead as if he is grieving.

On Wednesday night, Eminem revealed the cover art in his native Detroit where he projected the image onto tall buildings in the middle of the city. He posted a video on YouTube showing the big reveal using his new single “Walk on Water” as the soundtrack. The tracklist for Revival is currently out with Beyonce, Kehlani, Pink, Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran, Phresher, Skylars Grey, and more making a guest appearance.

Metro Boomin is also having a big year with two joint projects with Gucci Mane and 21 Savage. During a recent interview with Billboard he explains his thought process about putting the album together. “I was born in ’93,” he said, “and a lot of projects [from that era] had one producer, maybe two. They sounded more cohesive — better as a whole.”

“I believe music is a way of getting away from things,” Big Sean added, “but it was heavy on my heart, and I felt the need to talk about it.” This is BS second album this year after dropping I Decided in February.
