Last year, Wild Beasts announced that they were breaking up, finally concluding the project with a farewell EP. This week, the band released a final live album called Last Night All My Dreams Came True and also played their last show at London’s Eventim Apollo. With a career-spanning 24-song, three encore set, the band triumphantly brought the 14-year-old project to a close once and for all. Watch a few clips of the performance and hear their new live album below.
Bon Iver’s 2007 album For Emma, Forever Ago technically turned 10 last July, but the album didn’t see a proper international release until the band signed to label Jagjaguwar and formally released the album in February 2008. To honor the later release, Justin Vernon and co. held a 10th anniversary performance last night in Milwaukee, where the band performed songs from the treasured album, including a new unreleased song from the era called “Hayward, MI.” During the performance, Vernon dedicates the song to his longtime manager Kyle Frenette, who recently announced his upcoming Congressional run. Watch a few clips of the performance, including the band’s new song, below.
It was a G.O.O.D. Saturday for Kanye West and Kid Cudi fans, who were treated to a special performance from the duo at adidas’ 747 Warehouse St. event during NBA All-Star Weekend event in Los Angeles.
Dressed casually in shorts, an adidas sweatshirt, and hat, Yeezy surprised the crowd when he showed up on stage to introduce Cudder. “I just came out here with my homie, my brother,” he said. “I need y’all to make some noise for Kid Cudi.”
The Lonely Stoner brought Yeezus back to the stage for a rendition of “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1,” which they performed together.
The joint performance fuels rumors of an upcoming Kanye-Cudi collaborative project, which they reportedly worked on in Japan last year. In November, the duo also performed “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” in Chicago.
Two years ago, the longtime friends feuded over a series of issues. Taking to Twitter, Cudder wrote: “Ye, Drake, whoever. These ni**as dont give a fuck about me. And they aint fuckin with me. Ni**as keep you close when they see how powerful you are by yourself. When they see your greatness. Out of fear.” Kanye replied: “Kid Cudi, don’t ever mention ‘Ye name. I birthed you…Respect the God!”
However, both artists appeared to reconcile following individual health concerns. Cudi reportedly went to rehab, while West was treated for what’s been called a mental breakdown.
In addition to Kanye and Cudi, adidas’ two-day 747 Warehouse St. event featured performances from N.E.R.D, Lil Uzi Vert, Childish Gambino, 21 Savage, Playboi Carti, French Montana, and more.
Jordin Sparks and her husband Dana Isaiah celebrated the upcoming birth of their first child, a baby boy, at a baby shower with family and friends in Arizona on Saturday.
The 28-year-old former American Idol winner, her hubby and her mother Jodi posted on Instagram on Saturday photos from the party.
“Little Bug can’t wait to meet her cousin,” Sparks wrote, alongside a photo of her niece kissing her baby bump, which she covered in a light gray bodycon dress. “We had a low key baby shower for Little man in AZ with family and friends this afternoon. It was beautiful. I am so grateful for the support system I’ve had growing up and the roots that took hold to support us now. This journey is incredible. God is good. #HGA #love #familyovereverything #JDshower2018.”
“Thanks to everyone who came out for the baby shower,” Isaiah wrote on his page, alongside a photo of him and Sparks with family members. “It was a good time.”
A week later, on Thanksgiving Day, they revealed she is pregnant with a baby boy.
“We have so much to be thankful for and this is definitely at the top of the list!” Sparks wrote on Instagram at the time. “@_danaisaiah‘s gonna have a little mini me running around! We can’t wait to meet him. We love you lil man!”
