[Hook x2]
Water is all polluted
Beach is all just sewage
And I’m just tryna find my girl
Before it all is ruined (hey)

Water is all polluted
Beach is all just sewage
And I’m just tryna find my love
Before it all is ruined (hey)

[Verse 1: Bless]
Woke up in Venice beach with an itch for some nicotine
Stepped aside and saw the sun and felt the rays against my cheek
The life is sweet, but the end is near so wasting time is suicide
I’m down the ride and I’m always here
Locked up in my own heart, tryna find my own peace
Focus on survival and forget about that ol’ feast
I’m all good, no bad days
Crushing out a roach with my two fingers in the ash tray
Unfold it like a lotus, happiness is my motive
Poetry is my modus, used to fear that no one would notice
Now there’s thousands that know this, Russians who got colded
Woke up and I’m zoning, started writing and owned it (uh)

[Hook x2]

[Verse 2: Bless]
Say the end is coming, and ain’t no point in running
Nowhere safe there’s no escape, this karma’s gon’ be something
Schools keep on closing but the prisons always stay open
Whole system is broken, can of worms has been opened
Might as well keep smoking, cease the day and go and own it
Dig a grave and toss a rose at all of my opponents
Blow a kiss straight to my girl, she’s the only one in the world
Share my bed and all my bread, fingers running through her curls
But now I gotta find her, lost her in the summer
All alone and the worlds end and what a fucking bummer, but
Swear to God I’mma find her cause true love waits (ahh)
Been singing all these love songs before it’s just too late

[Hook x2]

[Intro]
Yeah, Shakedown life
Believe that, huh

[Hook]
In a world so cold
But I can get it if I dream it
And my word so gold
If I said it then I mean it
And I ain’t never gon’ stop
Til I hit the top, it’s waitin’ for me
And back at the Marriott
I got a bad bitch, she waitin’ for me

[Verse 1]
Strapped when I leave the house
Hold up, I’m thinkin’ trap when I leave the house
Hop in the squadder, look I’m fin to run a route
Make deliveries, product never runnin’ out
Every day is payday, no days off
Grind hard, they say hard work pays off
So I’m in the street scrapin the pot
Ice cream man, I got the cake on the block
The hoes say a nigga lookin’ good
I’m ridin V-12, take a look up in the hood
Contrary to the popular talk, I’m gettin’ money, muh’fucka
And I’m livin’ like a boss in the hood
As you can see I’m gettin’ chubby, muh’fucka
My-my-my bitch model status
Rap sheet long, trigger finger got a callous, what else?

[Hook]
In a world so cold
But I can get it if I dream it
And my word so gold
If I said it then I mean it
And I ain’t never gon’ stop
Til I hit the top, it’s waitin’ for me
And back at the Marriott
I got a bad bitch, she waitin’ for me

[Verse 2]
My vehicle is NASCAR
Not too much different from my last car
My team solid, the grind mean
My vision clear, I’m fightin’ for my dreams
My cell been ringin a lot lately
I guess these niggas figured that I’m hot lately
Still I’m puttin’ pressure on the game
Got my feet on the gas, Shakedown on the chain
Talk to me, tell me why you niggas losin
When you can fuck with the winners, we got it movin’
Cold world, still I fly high
And nah we ain’t stoppin’, this be the drive-by
I jam niggas and blam niggas
You niggas is dead, virus infected spam niggas, huh
Yeah, I’m on that victory lap
For my city, look I’m fin to bring the victory back, what else?

[Hook]
In a world so cold
But I can get it if I dream it
And my word so gold
If I said it then I mean it
And I ain’t never gon’ stop
Til I hit the top, it’s waitin’ for me
And back at the Marriott
I got a bad bitch, she waitin’ for me

In a world so cold
But I can get it if I dream it
And my word so gold
If I said it then I mean it
And I ain’t never gon’ stop
Til I hit the top, it’s waitin’ for me
And back at the Marriott
I got a bad bitch, she waitin’ for me

Tony Matterhorn won’t be playing any Alkaline music this year or perhaps ever.

The beneficiary of this feud of course is Vybz Kartel and maybe a few other artists whose songs will get more airplay on Matterhorn’s platforms. DancehallHipHop reported in December that Alkaline disrespected the veteran sound system selective in front of his face and thousands of fans at Club Euro in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Footage of the exchange went viral online sparking a debate about the deteriorating relationship between dancehall artists and disc jockeys.

Seems Tony Matterhorn had enough of the shenanigan and decided to take a stand. While hosting a party last weekend, the “Dutty Wine” deejay had some harsh words for the young dancehall hitmaker. “Don’t unnu see everybody play? Me say me a give Alkaline one year bom***** ban, who no like it s*** your mother,” an angry Matterhorn said. “Don’t forget say me could’ve shoot up unnu blood**** and I said hold it. So when unnu hear me say one year ban Alkaline s*** your mother.”

Right after making that bold statement, Tony Matterhorm drop Vybz Kartel and Masicka single “InfraRed.” So clearly, Kartel is the biggest winner in this ongoing beef between the disc jockey and Alkaline. Sources told DancehallHipHop that this has been eating away at Matterhorn for the past few weeks and it was only a matter of time before he snapped.

“Alka really disrespected the man and you could tell it was something that was bothering him for a while,” sources said. “He waited to see if he will get an apology or something but nothing, just more disrespect from the other side camp so this is no surprise and he (Alkaline) shouldn’t be surprised either.”

Let’s hope that these two very important figures in dancehall can make peace sometime soon for the good of the music.

#tonymatterhorn drop the hammer. Says one year ban for #alkaline

Chronixx is angry with the Grammys after losing out the Best Reggae Album trophy to Damian Marley.

Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley won his third Grammy award last night at the 60th annual Grammy Awards ceremony in New York City. Chronixx, as well as, four others were nominated in the Best Reggae Album category and not only did the Chronology singer not congratulate Marley for the win, he also chided the Grammys in a message posted on Instagram.

“When mi fren dem realize seh the @recordingacademy doesn’t televise the reggae category for the Grammys, they did say the revolution will not be televised,” the singer wrote. He has since deleted the post after it went viral. Some fans also see this as a grudge against Damian Marley winning the award while others support his assessment.

“Chronixx I agree with your statement about the Grammys not televising the reggae category but this seems like your a grudge against Damian,” one fan wrote. “Yes there are some biases when it comes to the Marley brand but that doesn’t mean you can’t congratulate your comrade. Even though he has the Marley name his album was actually better than yours in my opinion. Don’t let your grouses against the Grammys let you start feuding with your musical brother rastaman.”

Here is another comment from another fan.

The Recording Academy has never televised the Best Reggae Album category mainly because the category is not big enough. To be fair to them, there are several other categories that are bigger than the reggae category that are not televised. This has been a big issue for reggae fans for a long time and the awards ceremony has not moved to address it. So don’t expect to see your favorite artists in this cat accepting their award.

Do you think Chronixx should have won the Best Reggae Album Grammy. Leave your comments below.
