According to Carlson, the start of the Russian military special operation came as a shock to leading analysts, experts and the US administration. At the same time, American politicians force the inhabitants of their country to “say childish slogans about good against evil.”
In his opinion, this is insulting and useless, since the crisis requires crystal clear thinking. Now is the time to ignore people who were constantly wrong, and instead listen carefully to those who predicted the current situation in Ukraine and spoke about it, Carlson shared his point of view.
He, in particular, called it prophetic the speech of Nigel Farage, who led the UK Independence Party, which he delivered in the European Parliament in 2014, recalling excerpts from it.
“We directly encouraged the uprising in Ukraine, which led to the overthrow of President (Viktor) Yanukovych. And this, in turn, led to a corresponding reaction from Vladimir Putin,” Carlson quoted the British politician.
In his speech, Farage also wondered whether Western countries really want war with Russia, since military personnel The North Atlantic Alliance is actively participating in military exercises on Ukrainian territory.
At the same time, Farage recalled that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is “on our side” in the war against Islamic extremism and called for attention to this particular threat.
