Reports of dozens of dead civilians in the Ukrainian city of Bucha in the Kiev region, as well as published videos and photos from there — thisfake, “ripened in the cynical imagination of Ukrainian propaganda,” Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said in his Telegram channel.
According to the deputy head of the Security Council, in order to discredit Russia, “the enraged beast from the national battalions and the territorial defense is ready to casually kill their own civilians.” He believes that such fakes are created by “troll factories” supervised by Western governments and their “manual NGOs”.
On April 3, Reuters and AFP, as well as the Ukrainian authorities, released footage from the cities of Bucha and Irpen in the Kiev region, showing mass graves, bodies of people on the streets, some with their hands tied. An AFP correspondent said he saw at least 20 dead on one of the streets of the city, noting that the cause of their death is unclear. Bucha Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk told AFP that another 280 people were buried in mass graves.
The Russian Defense Ministry called these publications a provocation, noting that on March 30 the Russian military completely withdrew from Bucha. The military department emphasized that during the time that Russian troops controlled the city, “not a single local resident was injured.”
Moscow twice requested a meeting of the UN Security Council because of the situation in Bucha, but was refused. It will take place on April 5 at the British initiative. Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that evidence of the Russian position would be presented at the meeting.
