The epidemiological situation in the country has stabilized, but it’s too early to talk about the end of the coronavirus pandemic, said the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova during a conference call with the regional departments of the department.
“Despite the relative stabilization of the epidemiological situation in the country, there is no need to talk about the end of the pandemic. Coronavirus remains a significant threat to the life and health of citizens, especially those at risk, — warned the chief sanitary doctor of Russia.
In the 15th week of the year, 76,233 cases of COVID-19 were detected in the country, which is 20.4% less than the previous week and 35.5% lower than than the average for the last four weeks.
Popova also said that last week the strain “omicron” revealed in 97.5% of the studied samples, «delta» — 0.5%.
Recall that on April 19, the number of COVID-19 cases in Russia per day reached its lowest level since May 2021.
