Sergei Shoigu announced the delivery of chemical weapons to the Donbass by the United States and the preparation of a provocation The head of the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the presence of 120 employees of American PMCs in eastern Ukraine. They, according to Shoigu, brought there chemical components and are preparing a provocation
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the preparation by American private military companies of a provocation with` `chemical components '' in the east of Ukraine. Shoigu said this at an expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry board in Moscow with the participation of President Vladimir Putin.
“ To commit a provocation, reserves of an unidentified chemical component were delivered to the cities of Avdeevka and Krasny Liman '', & mdash; Shoigu said.
According to the minister, it was “ reliably established '' that more than 120 employees of American private military companies are in the settlements of Avdeevka and Priazovskoe in Donetsk region. “ They equip firing sites in residential buildings and at socially significant facilities, prepare Ukrainian forces for special operations and active hostilities, '' & mdash; added the minister.
The head of the Ministry of Defense said that NATO is transferring troops to the “ eastern flank '', including from the territory of the United States, and is involving Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia in military activity. “ The exercises are practicing various options for using coalition groups against Russia, involving non-aligned states: Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The desire of the North Atlantic Alliance to involve the Ukrainian armed forces poses a threat to security, especially considering Kiev's attempts to resolve the Donbas problem by force, '' & mdash; said Shoigu.
He said that NATO's actions are “ the military development of the territory of Ukraine ''; and the situation is aggravated by the supply of aircraft from the United States, including attack drones and anti-tank systems.
Earlier, Russia accused the United States and NATO of advancing the alliance's military forces to the east, creating threats and engaging in Ukraine's military activities. Moscow demanded that Washington negotiate security guarantees. On December 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry presented a list of requirements for the US authorities. In particular, the Russian side insists that the United States should not establish military bases on the territory of the former USSR and guarantee that NATO will not expand eastward. Washington responded by saying that it is ready to conduct such negotiations, but only with the participation of allies in Europe.
At the same time, on December 11, the United States announced that it had suspended the supply of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of more than $ 200 million. This decision was made by the American administration despite Kiev's requests in order to give time for a diplomatic settlement of the situation between Russia and Ukraine and reduce tensions.
In turn, the West announced an increase in the activity of the Russian armed forces on the border with Ukraine, publications in the Western media about this began to appear in October. Against the backdrop of publications, assumptions began to arise about the impending “ invasion '' Russia to Ukraine. The Associated Press speculated that the offensive could occur in early 2022. The German edition of Bild has published a scheme of the alleged invasion.
The Russian side has repeatedly denied such accusations. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov called these publications stuffing and “ empty pumping '' that create tension. The United States responded by saying that it would study the possibility of military intervention in the event of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
