The EU will ban coal imports from Russia under the fifth package of sanctions. This was announced by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, voicing proposals for restrictions.

- ban on imports of timber, cement, seafood, spirits from Russia;
- ban on Russian companies participating in public procurement in EU member states.

CNBC, citing sources, previously wrote that EU restrictions would include aircraft leasing, export and import of aviation fuel, but von der Leyen did not name these measures.
